- Do not attempt to remove hanging limbs caught in trees or on power lines
- If a power line is down on your property contact your local utility company immediately
- If part or all of a tree has fallen on your property as a result of a storm, it is your responsibility, as the homeowner,
to remove the tree, regardless of whose property the tree was originally on prior to the storm - Have your trees inspected after any inclement weather as there may be hazardous conditions present that
can easily be missed if not inspected by an expert - Trees that fall on city property are usually removed by the city, contact your local municipality for details
- If you're planning on filing an insurance claim, take images of the damage if it's safe to do so and contact your company as soon as possible to ensure all proper steps are taken in a timely manner
